HARRISONBURG, Va. – Towson drops 7-0 decision at Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) rival James Madison on Saturday afternoon at the Hillside Courts.
The Tigers fell to 10-9 on the season and 2-4 in conference play. The Dukes improved to 15-5 overall and 3-1 in CAA play with the win, which extended their win-streak to six matches.
How it Happened
- James Madison won two of the three doubles matches to secure the opening doubles point. Towson's lone win came at the second flight as Lucy Williams and Yevgeniya Shusterman bested Emma Petersen and Rebecca Harris, 7-5. At the top flight, Timea Guibe and Kimmy Herrock defeated A.J. Gomer and Renate van Oorschodt 6-4. Jona Roka and Dylan Owens combined for a 6-2 win over Lucy Gloninger and Barbora Vasilkova at the No. 3 spot.
- Guibe earned a 6-3. 6-2 win over Nicole Shakhnazarova at the top singles flight.
- Petersen posted a 6-1, 6-2 win over Williams at No. 2 singles.
- Herrock defeated Gomer 6-0, 7-5 at the third singles flight.
- Roka earned a 6-1, 6-1 win over Vasilkova at No. 4 singles.
- At the fifth singles flight, Owens posted a 6-2. 7-5 victory against van Oorschodt.
- In the final singles spot, Gloninger fell 6-2. 6-3 to Harris.
