Scott's Four Hits Lead Towson Against 13th-Ranked JMU

TOWSON, Md.Kendyl Scott had her first career four-hit game to help the Towson University softball team go toe-to-toe with nationally-ranked James Madison for seven innings. The Tigers battled and displayed plenty of heart in throwing a super-sized scare into the 13th-ranked Dukes.
 
Unfortunately, for the Tigers, the eighth inning happened. James Madison scored 13 runs in the frame to defeat Towson, 15-5, in extra innings in the series finale of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) weekend series at the Tiger Softball Stadium Sunday afternoon.

"Honestly, I just had an approach that I was going to swing at good strikes early in the count and put good swings on the ball. We are one amazing team. We can hang with anyone. Towson concludes its six-game homestand when it hosts Norfolk State in a doubleheader Tuesday afternoon beginning at 2 p.m. The Tigers are 4-0 all-time against the Spartans, which include a pair of 10-2 and 8-0 victories last season. Norfolk State is 9-16 overall after being shutout in three games at Morgan State over the weekend. The Spartans were outscored 19-0 and haven't scored a run in 27 innings. Norfolk State hasn't scored a run in four straight games.
