Story Lines
The Tigers hit the road for the first time this season as they travel to take on Maryland.  Kickoff is set for noon on the Big Ten Network.

The Tigers and Terps are meeting for just the second time on the gridiron.  The only other meeting happened in 2011, with UM winning 28-3.  

Towson is opening the season with two games in the state of Maryland against teams from the state of Maryland for the first time since 2008.  That season, the Tigers opened at Navy before playing host to Morgan State.

The Tigers defense helped post the first shutout in the season opener since 1983 in the 10-0 victory over Morgan State.  It was the first opening-day shutout since 1983.

Towson hits the road for the first time this season as they travel to take on Maryland.  Kickoff is set for 12 p.m.

The Tigers contest against Maryland can be heard live on CBS Sports Radio 1300.  The voice of the Tigers, Spiro Morekas, will once again be joined by Gordy Combs to call the action.

The game at Maryland can be seen live on the Big Ten Network.  Joe Beninati and Stanley Jackson will have the call.

The forecast is calling for plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the low 70s for Saturday's noon kickoff.

Playing the Big 10
The game against Maryland will mark the third game the Tigers will play against a team from the Big Ten.  Towson is 0-2 in its other two opportunities, falling 47-14 at Northwestern in 2009, and 51-17 at Indiana in 2010.

Two-Straight in Maryland, vs. Maryland
For just the second time in school history, Towson will open the season with two games in the state of Maryland against two teams from the state of Maryland.  The only other occurrence happened in 2008 when the Tigers opened the season at Navy before taking on Morgan State at Unitas Stadium.

Lyndon Johnson Returns to Maryland
Towson first-year defensive coordinator will be returning to Maryland on Saturday, but this time he will be going to the visitors locker room.  Prior to coming to Towson, Johnson spent five years as an assistant coach for the Terps.

Season-Opening Shutout
The Tigers recorded just their fourth opening day shutout in their 49-year history against Morgan State.  It was also the first since 1983.

Shutout Streak vs. Morgan State
The Tigers have an impressive streak going as they have not allowed Morgan State to get on the scoreboard over the last 118:10.  The Bears got a field goal with 13:10 left in the first quarter during the meeting in 2011 and have been shutout over the next seven-plus quarters.

Carter Named CAA Rookie of the Week
Redshirt freshman defensive lineman Bryce Carter was named the CAA Rookie of the Week after his performance against Morgan State.  He recorded six tackles in his first collegiate game.  He also added a strip sack and fumble recovery in the fourth quarter.

McDade Gets INT in First Start
Junior Tyron McDade made his first career start against Morgan State and intercepted a pass in the second quarter.  It marked the second-straight year a Tigers defensive back had an interception in his first start.  Last year, Justice Pettus-Dixon intercepted a pass in his first start at South Florida.

Three Interceptions in a Game
For just the fourth time since joining the CAA in 2007, the Towson defense intercepted three passes in a game.

Three Interceptions by 3 Players
In the victory over Mogan State, the Tigers got interceptions from Tyron McDade, Monty Fenner and Lyrics Klugh.  It was the first time since Septmeber 10, 2005 against Lock Haven that the Tigers had three different players intercept a pass in a game.

The Tigers close out their nonconference schedule as they travel to face Saint Francis on Sept. 16.  Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
