  • Towson pulled back within two later in the set to make it 19-17 Charleston, but another small burst from the Cougars took their lead to 23-17. The Tigers challenged back with 4-1 run but Charleston took the first 25-21.
  • In the second, Charleston ran out to a 3-0 lead before eventually taking a 5-3 advantage. Towson put together a 4-0 run to take its first lead of the set 7-5. Charleston scored a pair to retie the action but Towson held off the Cougars over the next several serves.
  • Charleston snagged a one-point, 14-13 lead midway through the set before Towson ripped off an 8-1 run for a 22-16 lead. The Tigers scored three of the set's final five points to secure the set win 25-19.
  • Again the Cougars ran out to a multiple point lead early in the set, going up 5-1 to start the third. Towson scored a 6-1 run to take a 7-6 lead. Charleston scored a small 3-0 run for a 10-7 as the teams traded chances before Towson went on a 5-1 run for a 20-18 lead. The Tigers got to set point with a 24-23 lead, but the Cougars tied the frame before Jarome scored a kill and finished the frame with a service ace to give Towson a 2-1 set lead.
  • The fourth set was another back-and-forth effort on both sides. Midway through the frame, Charleston took a 16-11 lead after a 4-0 run, forcing a Towson timeout. The Cougars continued to score efficiently, winning the fourth set 25-15 and sending the matchup to a fifth set for the first time since the 2016 campaign.
