Fobbs Earns CAA Weekly Accolade

TOWSON, Md. – Towson University junior guard Brian Fobbs was named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Co-Player of the Week Monday afternoon. It's the first career CAA honor for Fobbs.

Fobbs poured in a career-high 32 points, including a game-winning 3-pointer with 10 seconds left in double overtime, in Towson's 80-76 road victory at rival UMBC last Tuesday. The scoring effort was tied for the 13th-best in Tigers' history. He was 6-of-12 from 3-point distance, becoming the fourth player under eighth-year head coach Pat Skerry to make at least that many in a single game.

Fobbs was also 10-of-10 at the free throw line while also contributing seven rebounds. Fobbs, who has scored 25 or more points in three of Towson's last four games, is ranked eighth in the CAA in scoring with a 16.4 point per game average.

Fobbs is the fourth Towson player in program history to score at least 32 points in a single-game against UMBC, joining Kurk Lee (44 points, Dec. 8, 1999), Terrance Jacobs (39, Feb. 15, 1992) and Devin Boyd (32, Feb. 3, 1993). This was the third consecutive season, a Tiger has scored 30 or more points in a road game. Fobbs became the eighth CAA men's basketball student-athlete to score 30 or more points in a game this season.

Towson is back in action this weekend when it competes in the Boardwalk Battle in Atlantic City. The Tigers meet Tulane for the first time in program history on Friday, Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. Towson will play either La Salle or Alabama A&M at 12 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22.

COACHES POWERING FORWARD: Autism Speaks Coaches Powering Forward will take place on the weekend of February 15-17, 2019. The Tigers host Drexel on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m.

Last season, more than 375 NCAA coaches participated by wearing an Autism Speaks blue puzzle piece lapel pin to help increase understanding and acceptance of people with autism. In total, more than 4,400 pins were worn by coaching staff, officials, broadcasters, and school teams. We hope you will join us this year for this important cause.

Autism currently affects one in every 59 children in the U.S and for most, is a lifelong condition.

It's easy to participate:
