BOSTON, Mass. -- The Towson University women's basketball team heads north for a pair of Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) games, kicking things off Friday night at Northeastern. Game time in the Cabot Center is slated for 7 p.m. in a rematch of a Dec. 29, 2017 matchup between the Tigers and the Huskies.
THE FAST BREAK
- Towson heads for the northern climes of the CAA for a pair against the northern-most schools in the conference: Northeastern and Hofstra.
- The Tigers are looking to avenge a 70-61 loss at SECU Arena back on Dec. 29, 2017. Towson has dropped the last four against the Huskies.
- Towson split its games at SECU Arena last week, besting Hofstra before falling to league-leading James Madison.
- Last week against Hofstra, Towson set a record with 14 blocks, which also represents a SECU Arena record. Sophomore forward Nukiya Mayo was responsible for four of those swats, while Mary Cuevas knocked aside six.
- For her efforts that Friday, Mayo was selected as the fan vote CAA Player of the Night on Twitter.
SERIES HISTORY
Towson and Northeastern will meet for the 37th time in series history.
Friday night's winner will take control of the series, which is tied 18-18 after the Huskies evened the slate in December.
Towson and Northeastern have only met in the regular season for each of the last six seasons. The Tigers and Huskies clashed just once during the 2011-12 season when the CAA had a different scheduling format.
