HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. –
Zane Martin scored a career high 36 points for the Towson University men's basketball team in its 91-86 loss at Hofstra in a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) game at the David S. Mack Sports Complex Saturday afternoon.
Justin Gorham added 20 points and 12 rebounds for his second straight double-double.
In finishing with 10 points,
Mike Morsell became the seventh player in program history to score 1,500 points.
Dennis Tunstall tied his career best with 13 rebounds.
Hofstra, which won its fourth straight game, had five players reach double digits led by Justin Wright-Foreman, who finished with 27 points and five assists.
With the win, Hofstra clinched the No. 3 seed in the upcoming CAA Tournament presented by Jersey Mike's. Towson will be the No. 5 seed and play No. 4 seed William & Mary on Sunday, March 4 at 2:30 p.m.

Historic Context for Martin's Scoring Effort
- Martin set a Towson single-game scoring record for most points by a sophomore, eclipsing Morsell's 34 point effort on Feb. 13, 2016.

- After Towson closed Hofstra's 13-point second half lead to 76-74 following a pair of Eddie Keith II foul shots with 4 minutes, 2 seconds remaining, the Pride scored eight of the next 10 points during a two-minute stretch.
- Hofstra opened the second half by scoring six straight points in 54 seconds to extend its 41-37 halftime lead.
- Gorham gave Towson its last lead of the contest, 29-28, with 4:52 left in the first half.
