Women’s Basketball Hosts Drexel Sunday at SECU Arena

TOWSON, Md. – In its penultimate home game of the 2017-18 season, the Towson University women's basketball team returns to SECU Arena for a 2 p.m. showdown against the Dragons of Drexel University.

The Fast Break
  • The Tigers (9-17, 4-11 CAA) return to SECU Arena for the first time since Feb. 11 against James Madison.
  • Towson dropped a pair of road games last weekend at Northeastern (79-61) and Hofstra (83-72).

  • This weekend's single game marks the second time in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) action the Tigers have had a week off between games.

  • Of the 349 Division I women's basketball programs, almost none of them grab more offensive rebounds than the Tigers.
  • Towson ranks fourth in the country in offensive rebounds per game, averaging 18 per outing.
  • The Tigers have hauled in 469 offensive rebounds this year, which ranks seventh in total nationally and first in the CAA.
  • A big-time contributor to that ranking is Nukiya Mayo. The sophomore forward reels in five offensive rebounds per game, which ranks first in the league and third in the country. She has 137 total offensive rebounds, which is good enough for fourth in total among Division I student-athletes.

  • The Tigers average 10.0 steals per game this season, which ranks second in the CAA and 51st nationally.
  • Senior guard Raine Bankston swipes 2.04 per game this season, which is sixth among all CAA student-athletes.
