MORGANTOWN, W.V. -Â Despite singles wins from both
Nicole Shakhnazarova and
Barbora Vasilkova, the Towson University women's tennis fell short to West Virginia, 5-2, Sunday afternoon from the Summit Tennis Academy.
After dropping the doubles point, the Tigers got their first point of the match when Shakhnazarova battled to win the first set in a tie break, 7-5, and used the momentum to ease to a 6-1 victory in the second set. Vasikova recorded the second point for the Tigers as she was leading 5-4 in the second set when her opponent retired at No. 5 singles.
