Bankston Leads Tigers At UNCW

WILMINGTON, N.C. Raine Bankston led three Towson University women's basketball players in double figures with 18 points during a 64-53 setback to UNCW in a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) contest at Trask Coliseum Thursday night.
 
Nukiya Mayo chipped in with a double-double (11 points, 11 rebounds) and Jalynn Holmes finished with a career best 11 points. Towson held a 45-42 lead following an acrobatic over-the-shoulder basket from Bankston with six minutes remaining.
 
Mary Cuevas added nine points for the Tigers.
 
Chinyere Bell scored 16 of her 18 points in the second half. She gave the Seahawks the lead for good, 50-47 with a 3-pointer with 3:43 remaining. Lacey Suggs (15 points) and Jenny DeGraaf (14 points, 10 rebounds) finished in double figures for the Seahawks.
