Tigers Host CAA Rival James Madison on Friday

TOWSON, Md. - After playing the last five matches on the road, the Towson University women's tennis team returns home on Friday for the first time since January 14 when the Tigers host CAA rival James Madison at Coppermine Racquet and Fitness at 6 p.m.

Towson (3-4) is coming off a 5-2 loss at West Virginia on Sunday. Senior Nicole Shakhnazarova scored the Tigers first point of the match when she won the first singles set in a tie break, 7-5. She used the momentum to pick up a 6-1 victory in the second.

Senior Barbora Vasilkova recorded the second point for the Tigers at No. 6 singles. She was leading 5-4 in the second set when her opponent had to retire.

James Madison won the last match between the two teams, 7-0, on Apr. 8, 2017.

After Friday's match, Towson has a 16-day layoff before returning to action on Monday, March 19 against Denison in Orlando, Florida.
