A PERFECT 10: Tigers Pick Up Pair Of Victories

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team extended its winning streak to 10 after defeating Fairfield 9-1 and Mount St. Mary's 6-1 on the final day during the Tiger Clash Sunday at Tiger Softball Stadium.
 
Julia Smith-Harrington threw a complete game and Kaylen Minnatee drove in three runs with a pair of doubles in the win over Fairfield. In the victory over Mount St. Mary's, Melissa Abrahamian allowed one unearned run and Kendyl Scott had a pair of hits to lead the Tigers, who improved to 6-0 at home.

Historical Significance
  • The 10-game winning streak is Towson's longest since the 2015 team won that many games.
  • This is the sixth winning streak of 10 or more games in program history.
  • This is Towson's best record after 19 games since the 1987 team started 16-3.
How It Happened Fairfield
  • Smith-Harrington threw her second complete game of the season.
  • While raising her overall record to 5-2, she finished with six strikeouts.
  • Towson scored a run in each inning.
  • Brook Miko drove in two runs with a double and a sacrifice fly.
  • In addition to Minnatee, Miko and Scott had two hits each.

  • Scott had two hits including a RBI single in the second inning that extended Towson's lead to 2-0.
  • Stockinger hit a three-run homer in the third inning that swelled Towson's lead to 5-0.
  • It was Stockinger's second home run in three games and her team leading fifth of the season.
  • Stockinger and Miko, who drove in the first run of the game, lead Towson with 24 RBIs.
  • Riley Thies had two of Towson's six stolen bases.
  • Shea McFarland led the Mount with two hits.
  • Lindsay Heinze's two-out RBI single scored Kaylee Stoner in the fifth inning.
 
Tiger Clash By the Numbers
  • Towson's leading hitters in the Tiger Clash were Scott (.545) and Miko (.500).
  • Megan Dejter extended her scoreless inning streak to 25.1 innings by recording the final three outs in the seventh inning against Mount St. Mary's.
  • Stockinger drove in 10 runs during the weekend.
  • Three of Stockinger's four hits went for extra bases.
  • Scott also had eight RBIs from her leadoff spot.
  • Towson was 8-for-8 in stolen bases over the weekend.
