DELIGHTFUL DOZEN: Towson Rolls Past MDES

TOWSON, MD. – The Towson University softball team tied a pair of program standards by defeating Maryland Eastern Shore in a non-conference doubleheader 5-1 and 10-0 at the chilly Tiger Softball Stadium Thursday afternoon.

Kendyl Scott had five hits over the two games to power the Towson offense. Megan Dejter and Melissa Abrahamian allowed two hits each in their appearances to remain perfect on the season.
When Abrahamian struck out the final batter of the second game, the Tigers had extended their winning streak to 12 games and raised their season record to 18-3.

Quotable
Abrahamian on her first career shutout.
"It means a lot and it's just something to build on for the future. I had to keep my mind off the cold. Even though it was hard to feel my fingers, I just had to focus on my pitches. The team chemistry is so good. I have so much fun with these girls and I love playing with them."

Scott on Towson's 18-3 record and tying the program record for best start and rallying late in the first game.
"It means everything to us, but at the same time, we're taking everything game by game because we know it's still early. We're not letting any records or anything get in between how we play. It just shows that this team isn't going to give up on anything. We're down and that didn't stop us from scoring, battling and coming back in the end."
