Pitching Helps Towson Take Pair From Siena

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team extended its home winning streak to 11 games by defeating Siena in a pair of games, 2-1 and 8-0, in non-conference action at the soggy Tiger Softball Stadium Wednesday afternoon.

Playing through a persistent light rain, Towson senior Megan Dejter tossed her 59th career complete game and earned her ninth win of the season in the opener. Sophomore Julia Smith-Harrington and freshman Melissa Abrahamian combined for the shutout in the nightcap.

Before the doubleheader, Maryland comptroller Peter Franchot threw out the ceremonial first pitch, received Towson paraphernalia from Director of Athletics Tim Leonard, spoke with the team, and took a photo with the Tigers.
