TOWSON, Md. –
Brook Miko had five hits and drove in six runs to power the Towson University softball team to a pair of victories over Elon in a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) doubleheader at the sun-drenched Tiger Softball Field Saturday afternoon.
Miko had three hits as the Tigers won the opener 11-1. She followed that up by driving in four runs during a 10-0 victory in the nightcap. Towson's defense also shined during the afternoon by making several sparkling plays to terminate potential Elon rallies.
It was far from a one-woman show for Towson, which rode the dynamite pitching of
Megan Dejter and
Melissa Abrahamian to eclipse the 30-win plateau for the 15th time in the 23-year tenure of Towson head coach
Lisa Costello.

Milestone Alert
Kendyl Scott scored three runs to become Towson's all-time leader in runs scored with 150 for her career. In addition, with her three hits in the opening game, Scott tied Lisa Pollock's program record of 227 hits. Miko tied
Shelby Stracher's single-season record of 57 RBIs. Towson tied the single-season program record of 83 doubles.

How It Happened Game 1
- In becoming the third player in program history to start her 90th game, Dejter tossed her 66th career complete game.
- Dejter allowed two hits and enjoyed four 1-2-3 innings.
- Entering the game leading the nation in doubles per game, four of Towson's first six hitters made sure the Tigers kept their status as the nation's best in that category.
- Doubles from Riley Thies, Daria Edwards, Miko, and Stracher in the first inning produced three runs.
