WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Towson University softball team defeated Georgetown 12-1 at the chilly Nationals Youth Academy in a non-conference contest Tuesday night.
Kendyl Scott capped Towson's fourth straight win with a three-run home run in the fifth inning. She finished with a career best-tying five RBIs to power the Tigers offense, which entered the game ranked among the top 11 nationally in doubles per game, scoring, batting average, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage. Towson along with Washington & UCLA are the only three programs ranked in all five categories.
Brook Miko and
Madison Wilson each hit two-run home runs to fuel the Towson offense, which got three hits from
Kaylen Minnatee and two hits from
Olivia Baltazar.
For one hour, 41 minutes, the Tiger offense was literally the "Greatest Show On Turf."
