NEWARK, Del. A showdown went down in Delaware this afternoon as the Towson University women's swimming and diving team defeated the Blue Hens 194-106 Saturday afternoon. The meet took place inside Rawstrom Natatorium at CBS.
Highlighted by 12 first-place victories the Tigers helped Towson earn a combined team score of 382 points.
How it Happened
- In the 200-yard medley relay the team comprised of Maddi Mangum, Jacki Schoening, Megan Cowan and Annemarie Schnoor came in first-place with a time of 1:45.52.
- Haley Sutton, Amanda Rosa, Ryan Ulrich and Tara Goss finished in third with a time of 1:48.53.
- Meghan Jones was victorious in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:34.38). Meagan Clark finished in second (10:34.25).
- Annemarie Schnoor took first-place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.34.) Zeynep Balto was in fifth (2:00.56) and Tara Goss finished in seventh (2:07.51).
- Mangum was also first in the 100-yard breaststroke (57.90). Elise Devlin came in third-place (59.66), while Alex Diacumakos came in fourth (1:00.14).
- Schoening was successful in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.54), while teammate Kalyn Fetter was in third (1:07.57).
- In the 200-yard butterfly Cowan came in second-place (2:04.39), Sarah-Margaret Locke in third (2:08.61), Gabby Cervone in sixth (2:11.94) and Kasey Gamache in seventh (2:13.04).
- Ryan Ulrich won the 50-yard freestyle (24.35). Sutton finished in fourth-place (25.62), Brooke Bollinger in seventh (26.78) and Caroline Batista in eighth (27.12).
- Emily Wilson won the 1-meter (275.45) and 3-meter (271.00) diving competitions. Teammate Kelsey Jehl finished in second in both events with scores of 228.65 and 263.95, respectively.
- Ulrich also was first in the 100-yard freestyle (52.93) and Cowan finished in fifth (54.23).
- The Tigers took the top-three spots in the 200-yard backstroke. Sutton had a time of 2:06.02, while Cervone was second (2:06.76) and Devlin in third (2:06.94).
- Rosa came in second-place in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:24.43) and Gamache in third (2:28.56.).
- Jones was the winner in the 500-yard freestyle (5:09.58). Teammates Suzannah Mills came in second (5:e12.57) and Diacumakos in third (5:13.89).
- Mangum won the 100-yard butterfly (56.88) and Locke finished in third-place (58.44).
- Rachel Hoban was third in the 400-yard IM (4:37.76), Tasha Reidenbach in fourth (4:41.23) and Lauren Cavanagh in fifth (4:42.12).
- In the 400-yard freestyle Locke, Schnoor, Cowan and Mangum took home first-place with a time of 3:32.49.

The Tigers are back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 25 as they stay local and they take on the Greyhounds of Loyola. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. in the Mangione Pool at the Fitness & Aquatics Center.
