Towson Defeats Loyola in Final Dual Meet of the Season

BALTIMORE, Md. – In the final dual meet of the season, the Towson University women's swimming and diving team defeated Loyola University (Maryland) 174-118 Wednesday afternoon.

How it Happened
  • Towson saw a first place victory in the 200-yard medley relay with Meghan Jones, Jacki Schoening, Maddi Mangum and Ryan Ulrich with a time of 1:45.58.
  • Teammates Haley Sutton, Kalyn Fetter, Megan Cowan and Annemarie Schnoor saw third place in the same event with a time of 1:48.42.
  • Suzannah Mills was victorious in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:40.73). Gabrielle Cervone finished in second (10:45.82).
  • The Tigers saw a 1-2 finish in the 200-yard freestyle with Sarah-Margaret Locke (1:54.33) and Cowan (1:55.22), respectively. Meagan Clark finished in fourth (1:56.45).
  • Jones (58.54), Ulrich (58.61) and Sutton (59.21) had top three finishes in the 100-yard backstroke.
  • Schoening was successful in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.96) and Amanda Rosa came in third (1:06.14). Kasey Gamache finished in fifth (1:07.23).
  • Mangum came in first place in the 200-yard butterfly (2:06.01) while Lauren Cavanagh finished in third (2:10.87).
  • Schnoor had a first place victory in the 50-yard freestyle (24.02). Tara Goss came in fifth (25.16).
  • Emily Wilson won the 3-meter diving competition with a score of 288.30. Teammates Kelsey Jehl (287.63), Victoria Zozzaro (260.92) and Emilee Torres (219.90) finished in the top four respectively.
  • Schnoor saw first place in the 100-yard freestyle (51.65). Sarah-Margaret Locke was in second (54.19) and Zeynep Balto was in sixth (56.26).
  • Jones was also successful in the 200-yard backstroke (2:04.27). Ulrich came in second (2:05.27) and Alex Diacumakos came in third (2:09.01).
  • Clark triumphed in the 500-yard freestyle (5:10.80) and Cervone finished in second (5:15.87).
 Up Next
The divers will compete in the JMU Diving Invitational on Feb. 2-3 in Harrisonburg, Va., then Towson will compete in the Nonconference Taper meet with Virginia Tech and UNC on Feb. 8-10.
