Women's Soccer Falls to Drexel

PHILADELPHIA – The Towson University women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Drexel Thursday evening.

Under the lights at Vidas Field, six different sources took shots for Towson (3-8-1, 0-3-0 CAA). Drexel (4-6-3, 0-3-1) scored one goal each half to defeat the Tigers.

How it Happened
  • Justine Stoner took the first shot two minutes into the game.
  • A corner kick by Drexel, set up a shot by Joanna Seca, went right.
  • Maggie Daeche followed up with a shot to the bottom center and goalkeeper Delaney Mitchell had the save.
  • Mitchell had two more saves after Daeche shot to the left of the goal twice.
  • Three more shots occurred by the Dragons before Jenna Blank took a shot that went wide left.   
  • Lexi Littlefield took a shot fifteen minutes into the game that went to the top of the left side of the post but goalkeeper Libby Baeza had the save.
  • Melissa Lyon gave the Dragons the 1-0 lead 34 minutes in to the game.
  • After a corner kick by the Dragons, Lauren Curry assisted on the shot by Ali Shick to give them a 2-0 advantage.
  • Camryn Anderson had the final attempted shot of the game.

  • Towson is back at Tiger Soccer Complex on Sunday, Oct. 13 to face Elon.
  • The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
