Schnoor Leads the Way at Georgetown

WASHINGTON, D.C. – It was tight races all night for the Towson University women's swimming and diving team but Georgetown came out on top with a final score of 155-145 to defeat the Tigers Thursday evening.

Inside the McCarthy Pool, the Tigers had nine first-place victories led by Anniemarie Schnoor with four wins apiece in her events.

How it Happened
  • The 200-yard medley relay comprised of Alex Diacumakos, Jacki Schoening, Maddi Mangum and Schnoor captured first-place with a time of 1:45.63.
  • Elise Devlin, Katie Nunez, Andrea Ducar and Madison Mince finished in fourth in the same event.
  • Meghan Jones and Meagan Clark had fourth (10:38.77) and fifth (10:43.08) place finishes in the 1000-yard freestyle, respectively.
  • Schnoor was victorious in the 200-yard freestyle after finishing with a time of 1:53.00.  Nunez finished in third (1:56.87).
  • Reagan Martin and Elise Devlin had second (59.38) and third (59.60) place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke, respectively.
  • With a time of 1:03. 84 Schoening captured first place in the 100-yard breaststroke.
  • In her signature event, Megan Cowan won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:06.02. Sarah-Margaret Locke came in second (2:08.52).
  • The duo's of Maddie's had tied in the 50-yard freestyle. Maddi Mangum and Madison Mince both saw second place (24.78). Kayla Reedy finished fourth (25.02) and Hailey Ritter finished in fifth (25.14).
  • In the 1-meter diving Sarah DiGaetano came in fifth with a score of 206.10.
  • Schnoor also won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.97.
  • Diacumakos was victourious in the 200-yard backstroke (2:06.69). Martin came in second with a time of 2:06.78.
  • Schoening won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:20.56.
  • Jones came in fourth in the 500-yard freestyle (5:08.82).
  • Ducar saw her first colligate win in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.37. Cowan finished in third (58.58).
  • Christina Coleman came in third in the 3-meter diving with a score of 238.35.
  • Cowan finished in second in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:08.03.
  • The foursome of Nunez, Reedy, Mangum and Schnoor won the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:32.72.
Up Next
  • Towson heads to Annapolis, Maryland to compete in a quad meet with Navy, Johns Hopkins and George Washington on Friday, Oct. 18. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. inside Lejeune Hall.
