TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University baseball team have had a nice week, enjoying a well-attended, fun First Pitch Dinner headlined by John Schuerholz, then coming to John B. Schuerholz Park with the decent weather for practices.
On Saturday night, the baseball team, along with Towson president Dr. Kim Schatzel, athletic director
Tim Leonard, supporters, friends, Towson athletic department staff members and many others, almost 300 in total, gathered at the Valley Mansion in Cockeysville for the second annual First Pitch Dinner.
John Schuerholz, Towson alum and member of the Baseball Hall of Fame, was the headline speaker, dazzling the crowd with the story of his life. Jay Rokeach, the longtime PA announcer for Miami Hurricanes baseball, MCed the event, plus local media personality Keith Mills held a question and answer session with
Richie Palacios and Brady Policelli, former Towson Tigers currently in the professional ranks.
With the nice weather this week, the team has practiced at John B. Schuerholz Park, the home of Towson baseball. The team has been doing its exercises and skill practices on the field this week with the season just over a week away.
Next week, the Tigers head down to Davidson, North Carolina. First pitch will be on Friday, February 15
th at 6 p.m.
