SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Lindsey Toneygay homered and Julia Smith-Harrington tossed her fifth career shutout to help the Towson University softball team defeat Youngstown State 8-0 in the USC Upstate tournament Friday night.
How it Happened
· Jaclyn Mounie and Toneygay had two hits each for the Tigers.
· Toneygay homers was a 2-run shot in the second inning.
· Smith-Harrington scored on a throwing error and Arcia scored in the third to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead.
· Kendall Arcia doubled to left giving her a second RBI of the game.
· Cali Christopher scored on a passed ball and Julia Jackson scored to complete the game.
Inside the Numbers
· This was Lisa Costello's 696th career victory.
· Smith-Harrington had five strikeouts and pitched all six innings.
· The Tigers had eight runs on eight hits with six RBI's.
