SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Towson University women's tennis team took a win in neutral territory over the University of Saint Katherine, in San Diego, a 7-0 victory.
The Tigers are now 4-10 on the year and will return to the east coast to finish the spring break.
How it Happened
- In doubles action, the teams of Themis Haliou and Phoebe Collins, and Claire Bedi and Amelia Lawson, took 6-0 victories to secure the double point.
- Lucy Gloninger and Jessica Assenmacher took a 6-1 win over their opponents as the Tigers moved on to singles play.
- Singles games finished in the order of six, four, five, three, one and two. Playing at the No. 6 slot, Assenmacher scored the first Towson point in singles with a two 6-0 wins.
- Bedi and Collins took their wins in similar fashion, sweeping their opponents and holding them scoreless.
- Gloninger scored the final point to win with two 6-1 wins at the No. 3 spot. Haliou and Lawson defeated their opponents in sweep fashion as well.

"The girls did a great job coming out and being focused, taking care of business," said head coach
Jamie Peterson. "We rested two of our top three players as well, showing our depth. The last three singles matches were 6-0 victories, very impressive to finish off our three matches. We still have work to do to adjust to playing outdoors after an indoor season to start 2019."
