EMMITSBURG, Md. – Wednesday afternoon the Towson University tennis team took a 6-1 win over Mount Saint Mary's on the road. The Tigers move to 5-10 on the year, 1-1 in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play.
How it Happened
- In doubles play the Tigers were dominate, taking three straight wins. The team of Alexa Martinez and Yevgeniya Shusterman took the first win, while Phoebe Collins and Amelia Lawson won the second doubles game.
- Claire Bedi and Jessica Assenmacher won the third doubles game 6-3 as the teams moved on to singles play.
- In singles action, Shusterman took the first victory with 6-0 and 6-1 wins over her opponent.
- Bedi won the second singles game, a 6-0 and 6-2 final score in each set respectively.
- Towson wrapped up the win with a Themis Haliou victory.

"It was a positive day for us," said head coach Jamie Peterson. "We are adjusting to playing in the outside conditions and improving in every match. In general, we took care of business today with three wins in the doubles and a quick three wins in singles to clinch the match in convincing fashion."

The Tigers continue their eight-game road stretch, including three games at a neutral site but in a different time zone, with two games this weekend. Towson will face California (Pa.) and West Virginia on Friday and Saturday respectively.
