MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Friday afternoon the Towson University tennis team took a 7-0 win over California (Pa.) in neutral territory. The Tigers improve to 6-10 on the year and face West Virginia tomorrow at 1 p.m. on the Mountaineers home courts.
How it Happened
- The three Towson doubles teams each took 6-0 wins and secured the doubles point over the Vulcans.
- In singles action, Phoebe Collins won the first match with two 6-0 wins over Emily Suckling.
- Yevgeniya Shusterman took the next win in shutout fashion as well and Themis Haliou followed suit.
- Alexa Martinez secured the game-winning match with 6-2 and 6-4 scores defeating her opponent.
- The final two singles matches were also won by the Tigers, both in shutout sets.

"Towson tennis took it to California University of Pennsylvania from the start today, and finished strong," said head coach
Jamie Peterson. "Our third shutout victory of the year was convincing. We have to turn around tomorrow and face a very difficult opponent in West Virginia, but we will be up for the challenge."
