WILIMINGTON, N.C. - Nicole Stockinger hit her seventh home run of the season for the Towson University softball team during a doubleheader against UNCW.
Game one of the afternoon saw the Tigers fall 5-3 before dropping the second game 4-1.
How it Happened Game 1
·         Chloe Poulich doubled twice to lead the Tigers.
·         Towson struck first in the second inning after Poulich doubled to left center and Jessica Swistock drove her home with a single.
·         After Jess DaBreo reached base on a throwing error, Swistock scored giving the Tigers an early 2-0 lead.
·         In the bottom of the fourth UNCW's Hannah Adamczyk hit a homerun scoring Lacey Fox and tying the game 2-2.
·         In the sixth inning Stockinger singled through the left side and advanced to third after Poulich doubled down the line. Stockinger scored on wild pitch giving the Tigers a 3-2 lead.
·         UNCW scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh.
·         Julia Smith-Harrington struck out seven batters.
How it Happened Game 2
·         Jaclyn Mounie had two of Towson's five hits.
·         The Seahawks scored first in the bottom of the first inning and leading 1-0.
·         The Tigers answered back with a home run by Stockinger in the top if the second, tying the game at 1-1.
·         UNCW scored two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead 3-1.
·         Then the Seahawks scored one more run in the bottom of the fifth to take the game 4-1.
Inside the Numbers
·         Stockinger moved into fourth place on the all-time home run list with 32.
·         With 128 career RBIs, Stockinger is fifth all-time in program history.
·         Stockinger moved into a tie for seventh all-time in runs scored with 120.
