TOWSON, Md. – Friday afternoon the Towson University women's tennis team will host Rutgers at the Coppermine Racquet and Fitness gym in Bare Hills.
In Towson's second dual match against a power five school this season the Tigers will face a strong Scarlet Knights team with a 5-2 record.
Rutgers and Towson haven't met in the dual season since 2010. Nine years ago the Scarlet Knights took a 7-0 victory over the Tigers. In the fall 2018 season the teams met at the Gold & Blue Invitational hosted by Navy, where Towson defeated Rutgers in singles action.
The Tigers are coming off a split weekend after defeating Hofstra before falling to NJIT, both games on the road. This will be Towson's first home game since February 16.
The Scarlet Knights have won three of their last four, wins over Brown, Buffalo and Seton Hall. On the road Rutgers is 1-2 this season, the single win coming over Seton Hall. Rutgers has defeated Delaware and Penn State, two common opponents with the Tigers.
Tomorrow's match is set to begin at 12 p.m.
