TOWSON, Md. – With the end of the regular season in view the Towson University women's tennis team is set to play two mid-week matches. The Tigers host Villanova tomorrow, April 9 at 3 p.m. on the Towson Center Courts, and travel to see conference foe Delaware on Wednesday, April 10 at 3 p.m.
Towson enters the week 10-11 and 3-1 in conference play. Last week the Tigers went 4-0, collecting wins over UNCW and Drexel as well as UMES and Delaware State.
The Wildcats enter the week 9-7 and coming off five straight wins, most recently taking down Georgetown at home on Sunday 6-1. Common opponents include Navy, La Salle and Drexel. Villanova has defeated Providence, Rider, Seton Hall and Bucknell this season.
Last April the two teams met on the Wildcats' home courts and the Tigers left with a 4-2 win.
Wednesday afternoon Towson will travel to Newark for a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) game at Delaware. The Blue Hens are 9-9 with a 0-1 conference mark after falling to William & Mary, coming off six straight wins.
Most recently Delaware defeated Charleston Southern on the road. The Tigers and Blue Hens have seen a handful of the same opponents this year, including Rutgers, Navy, Duquesne, Richmond and Mount Saint Mary's.
In the last meeting between Towson and Delaware the Blue Hens took a 5-2 win in Maryland.

After the mid-week games Towson has three games remaining in the regular season, beginning with a home match against Saint Joseph's on Saturday at 2 p.m.
