TOWSON, Md. – Announced by head coach
Jamie Peterson, Sarah Pospischill has joined the Towson University tennis team for the 2019-20 season.
She joins the Tigers from Austria with several highlights from her junior career. In 2018 she reached the semifinal for singles in the Lower Austrian Championship and doubles in the Outdoor Austrian Championship. In the Pottsching Raiffeisen Tennis Trophy in 2018 she played in the semifinals for singles as well.
"We are very excited to have Sarah committed to Towson," Peterson said. "She has an extensive junior background playing in Europe and is very committed to school and tennis. She will be our first player to join the program from Austria and will be our fifth international player on our roster, all five from different countries."
In adult Austrian rankings Pospischill is 24th. She won singles in three U14 championships and a U12 and won the singles Circuit Masters in 2011. With TC-Bakl-Weigesldorf, she won the Lower Austrian Championship from 2010-14.
Pospischill is the second player to sign to play for the Tigers next season.
