Women's Soccer Falls to George Mason

FAIRFAX, Va. –  Towson University women's soccer team fell 1-0 to George Mason Sunday afternoon at the George Mason Stadium.

Towson (2-5-1) played a hard fought 90 minute game but George Mason (2-4-1) had the game winning goal in the second half by Emily Bradshaw.

How it Happened
  • It was a hard fought first half on both ends.
  • The Tigers Nikki Logan took a shot in the first half but it was saved by George Mason goalkeeper Louisa Moser.
  • Christiana Davey had a great shot on target but Moser had the save.
  • The Colonials took seven shots in the first half, two saved by Towson's goalkeeper Lindsey Pazdziorko.
  • Going into halftime the score was all even at 0-0.
  • George Mason's Bradshaw scored the only goal of game at the 39 minute mark. Gabriela Rivera and Jessica Adigo had the double assist.
  • With five minutes left in the game, Moriah Wigley dribbled pass two defenders to attempt a goal but Louisa dove for the save. The ball bounced off her and Wigley took another shot but a Colonial defender got the stop.
  • Logan took another shot with three minutes left in the game.
Behind the Numbers
  • The Tigers took six shots, three each period.
  • Pazdziorko had four saves.
  • The Patriots took seven corners and Towson took two.
  • George Mason had nine fouls in the game, Towson had two.

  • Towson will be back home at the newly renovated Tiger Soccer Complex on Sept. 19 to face Richmond.
  • The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
