TOWSON, Md. – This week's Student-Athlete Spotlight features Towson University football player
Yeedee Thaenrat. Check out his story by the Towson Sports Network.
In last week's 45-23 victory over then seventh-ranked Maine, Thaenrat scored a career-best four touchdowns on nine carries after All-America running back
Shane Simpson went down with an injury.
Thaenrat's journey to Towson is filled with adversity. As a five-year old, he and three siblings were separated from their parents during the second Liberian War. He eventually migrated to the United States and settled in Philadelphia as a teenager where he became a football star good enough to be recruited by Big Ten schools before an injury during his senior year nearly ended his career. Through hard work and perseverance, he is poised to graduate with a degree in Criminal Justice next spring.
Thaenrat and the fifth-ranked Tigers host No. 18 Villanova at Johnny Unitas® Stadium on Saturday night. Tickets for the 6 p.m. game can be purchased at
