TOWSON, Md. –For the third straight game, the Towson University women's soccer team faces an Atlantic 10 opponent; this time the Richmond Spiders. The Tigers will host Richmond on Thursday, Sept. 19 at the Tiger Soccer Complex. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
 
For all home contest fans can park in lot 19 and overflow traffic in lot 20.
 
Thursday's match will have live audio and video, free of charge, as well as live stats. Links for all the action can be found on women's soccer schedule page of TowsonTigers.com.  
 
 Last Time Out
Towson fell 1-0 to George Mason on Sunday, Sept. 15 at George Mason Stadium. George Mason's Emily Bradshaw scored the only goal of the game at the 39 minute mark. Goalkeeper Lindsey Pazdziorko had four saves which added to her season-high saves of 16 she had against George Washington last Thursday.
 
Rookie of the Week
After turning a career-high 16 saves, tying for eight-most in Towson history; Lindsey Pazdziorko was named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week.
 
The Series: Richmond (First Meeting)
Thursday's match will be the first-ever meeting between the Tigers and Spiders. This is the third Atlantic 10 opponent that Towson is facing this season. Towson faced George Washington and George Mason last week.
 
Scouting the Tigers (2-5-1)
Towson fell to George Mason 1-0 on Sunday, Sept. 15. Freshman goalkeeper Lindsey Pazdziorko had four saves during the contest. The Tigers have two players who have scored two goals this season; Jenna Blank and Demi Pierre. Nikki Logan has taken 18 shots, four on goal, and Blank has taken 14 shots, four on goal. Towson is ranked first in saves (48) in the CAA.
 
Scouting the Spiders (3-2-2)
After double overtime against Coastal Carolina, Richmond's last game ended in a 3-3 tie on Sunday, Sept. 15. Redshirt junior Alyssa Walker added two goals including a header to tie the game in the second half. Sophomore Molly Morgan had the goal in the first half to get the Spiders on the board. Walker leads the team in goals (5) and assists (3). Junior Katie Tritt has taken 13 shots, seven shots on goal. Goalkeeper Jessica Stanfill has 28 saves on the season.
 
In the Community
  • The Towson University athletics department deems community service as one of its highest priorities to give back to the Greater Baltimore area.
  • For the 7th consecutive year, the department exceeded 10,000 hours of community service to the Greater Baltimore region, finishing with 11,162 hours of community service in the 2018-19 academic season.
  • Towson ranked #1 nationally for community service and won the 2018 National Championship for Community Service through the Helper Helper NCAA Team Works Competition.
  • Towson had a 97% participation rate, attended 118 community service opportunities and volunteered with 19 organizations.
  • Towson won the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award from Susan G. Komen of Maryland.
