RICHMOND, Va. – Sophomore
Jenna Blank of the Towson University women's soccer team was named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Week, announced Monday morning.
Blank helped Towson defeat Richmond 3-0 on Thursday, Sept. 19. She took three shots on goal and scored all three goals in the first half to help Towson have the win.
Blank, who hails from Holbrook, New York was the first Towson player to ever have a hat trick in a half. She is also the first Tiger to have a hat trick since Holly Noga in 2001. Blank is tied for fourth in the CAA with total points (10) and leads the Tigers in goals with four.
In addition to Blank, James Madison's Hannah McShea was selected as the CAA Defensive Player of the Week, while Charleston's Olivia Freitas was named Rookie of the Week.
Towson opens CAA play on Thursday, Sept. 26 in Boston to face Northeastern. The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at Parsons Field.
