TOWSON, Md. - Friday afternoon the Towson University field hockey team continued it's 2019 campaign against Rider. The Tigers fell 4-1.

Georgia Beachley scored the Towson goal, assisted by fellow rookie
Samantha Aljets.
How it Happened
- The opening minutes were action packed as the Tigers got on the board in the second minute of action.
- Aljets had possession to the right of the goal and passed the ball to Beachley who had a clear shot between the goalkeeper and a defender.
- Her shot went straight into the middle of the goal and the Tigers took the lead.
- In the next four minutes the Broncs scored two unanswered and took a 2-1 lead.Â
- Neither team saw the back of the net in the second period although the Broncs took two shots on goal and had two corners in the final few minutes.Â
- Just two minutes into the third, a Rider foul on a Towson shot attempt resulted in a penalty stroke.
- Sophomore Beira Ho set up for the attempt and shot it to the left where the Broncs' goalkeeper grabbed the save.
- Rider had four straight corners and scored its third goal of the day off a corner, with room by the net Carly Brosious extended the lead to two.
- The fourth period was filled with corners as well, one resulting in the fourth goal of the afternoon from Rider.
Beyond the Box
- After her assist today, freshman Samantha Aljets leads the team in points with two goals and six assists for 10 points.
- Georgia Beachley scored her third goal of the year, she is tied with Kathryn Parkinson to lead the team.
- Freshman Tess Okkerse grabbed eight saves against the Broncs, her third game with eight or more saves this season.
