Women's Swimming & Diving to Compete at Loyola

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's swimming and diving teams are back in action taking on Loyola Wednesday, Jan. 22 in Baltimore, Maryland.

The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. inside Mangione Pool at the Fitness & Aquatics Center.

Swimming Spotlight
Before each meet, the swimming and diving program will introduce us to someone in the senior class who will share highlights and their expectations of the season. This meet we introduce you to senior, Sarah-Margaret Locke. The exercise science major is from Marietta, Georgia and is ready to end her senior year out with a bang.

"The team is very excited to compete against Loyola this Wednesday," said Locke. "We love racing a team so close and they are always great competitors which helps us as a team race better."

Like most of her teammates, everyone is looking forward to conferences but first the Tigers compete on Wednesday then Locke and five other seniors will be celebrated on Friday during the senior meet.

"Everyone is excited to race on Wednesday," said Locke. "We have some people swimming different events than they normally do, so all around we are just ready to have fun and swim fast!"

"I am actually looking forward to the senior meet on Friday and the conference championships in February. Those will be my last two meets ever as a Tiger and I am so excited to finish this season out strong with my teammates."

To ensure she is going out with a bang, Locke is determined to accomplish the goals she set and the team set at the beginning of the season.

"One thing we would like to accomplish as a team is to have as much fun and be as loud as possible while diving and swimming our best at any competition we go too," said Locke.

"One thing personally that I would like to do, is to place top 3 in the 400 IM for my team at the conference championship meet."

Fun insight from Sarah-Margaret Locke: "One thing I always bring to a meet is strawberry pedialyte and have a certain way I warm up, but other than that I am just there to have fun competing with and for my teammates! Goooo Tigers!"
