How it Happened
  • The Tigers started strong rolling to a 7-0 lead in the first three minutes and forcing a Dragons' timeout.
  • On the other side of the timeout, the home team responded with force, taking a 12-11 lead. In the first quarter, Drexel and Towson had the same field goal percentage but the Dragons went 6-of-10 from three, leading 23-15 at the end.
  • Opening the second quarter Drexel continued to extend the score, leading 35-19 by the media timeout with 4:16 to go in the half.
  • Entering the third the Tigers saw a strong showing and scored three straight buckets, cutting the lead to eight and forcing a Drexel timeout.
  • Eight points was as close as Towson would get to closing the gap in the third, as the Dragons returned to a double-digit lead of 10 by the end, up 49-39.
  • A very slow start in the fourth quarter as only three buckets were made in the first four minutes. With 8:34 to go Towson cut the lead to 51-43 on a jumper by Ryan Holder.
  • By the media timeout with 6:22 to go, the score was still the same.
  • At the 4:45 mark Kionna Jeter made two free throws and the Tigers cut the lead all the way to three points a minute later.
  • With 1:22 to go Towson trailed by four, the closest the Tigers would get to tying it up.
