TOWSON, Md. – Announced by head coach
Jamie Peterson, Sissi Axelsson has signed a letter of intent to play tennis at Towson University. She will join the Tigers for the 2021-22 roster.
"We are ecstatic to have a commitment from Sissy Axelsson," Peterson said. "She is our first ever player from Sweden and has a very solid junior background at the national level. She has a high level of commitment to tennis and academics. She will bring multiple positives to the team!"

Hometown: Lund, Sweden
High School: Akademi Bastad Gymnasium
Accolades: Currently ranked No. 28 in the U-18 Swedish players, the highest she has ever been ranked in an age bracket for Sweden is No. 8; she has played in Swedish nationals, best placement was making to the quarterfinals in singles and the semifinals in doubles; she also was the vice president of her student body.
Personal: Daughter of Annika and Jonas, she has an older sister, Hanna, who plays tennis at East Carolina University, and her cousin, Adam, plays tennis at Gardner Webb.
