TOWSON, Md. – Kevin Clark, long-time member of the Towson University men's basketball coaching staff, has been recognized as one of the top assistants in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) among his peers on Stadium.
Stadium published an article on the top assistants in the CAA, taking a vote among all current CAA head and assistant coaches. The article was written by reporter Jeff Goodman as part of his Top Basketball Assistant series. Goodman quoted a head coach and an anonymous second coach for each assistant coach selected.
Clark has been with Towson the past nine seasons, being promoted to associate head coach in July 2018. He has been a vital part of a Towson program that has finished in the top-three in the CAA regular season more times than any other team in the last eight years, including three times in the last five seasons. Towson has won double digit games each of the last eight years with six seasons of at least 18+ victories.
Clark works with the forwards for Towson. Since arriving in Baltimore, several Towson forwards, including Jerrelle Benimon, John Davis and Arnaud William Adala Moto have all earned All-CAA honors. Benimon was the two-time CAA Player of the Year in the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons.
"Well deserved recognition for Kevin, he has been at my side since my arrival at Towson," said Towson head coach Pat Skerry. "We have been fortunate to hire and develop great staff in our time here. We also have some excellent young talent in the rest of my current staff and I look forward to seeing them develop and help us gain great success."
Towson, under Skerry, has had several assistant coaches and staff members from its team bench that have been part of other programs as well.
