TOWSON, Md. – Nia Christopher scored on the Towson University women's soccer team's final chance in regulation to send the Tigers to a 2-2 draw vs. Charleston on Senior Day.
Towson (7-5-3, 2-3-1 CAA) had several chances vs. Charleston (2-9-3, 1-3-1 CAA) in the game despite being down at the half, forcing overtime with the Christopher goal from
Phoebe Canoles in the 90
th minute. Towson outshot Charleston 7-1 in extra time but had to settle for the draw.

- Towson outshot Charleston 31-14 in the game, tallying double digit shots in each half. Towson tied a season-high for shots with 31, putting 16 on net.

How It Happened:
- Towson got two early chances from Nia Christopher in the opening 11 minutes, with each being saved by Meredith Holton. Towson went for a Maja Hansson header on a resulting corner kick, with the attempt being wide.
- In minute 15, Faith Slimmer rocketed a shot off a pass from Olivia Freitas. Her shot hit the back of a Towson defender and into the right post for a goal to make it 1-0 Charleston.
- Towson equalized in the 24th minute off a free kick from Christopher. She short passed to Alexandra Rush who crossed into the middle for Camryn Anderson, who scored short range to tie the game at 1-1.
- Following a pair of corners, Khori Banks tried a shot off the clear attempt, missing wide. The other way two minutes later, a second chance shot for Charleston off the foot of Delaney Dawes resulted in a goal for a 2-1 Charleston score.
- Back and forth the teams traded shots on goal the rest of the half, including one for Krista Louro, as the Cougars took a 2-1 lead into halftime.
- Towson ratcheted up the pressure in the second half, with long range shots from Phoebe Canoles being saved in minutes 49 and 53.
- Charleston got a push in the 57th minute with a ball in the box. Two hard shots were blocked by Towson, then on a counter, Christopher sent a shot the other way high.
- Towson nearly got its chance on a through ball in the 68th minute, but the attempt was missed right of the post.
- The Tigers continued to get chances in the later minutes, but Charleston kept holding the lead until the final minute. Canoles took a ball from midfield and sent it to the box, finding the foot of Christopher for the shot and score with 34 seconds left to force overtime.
- Towson kept being aggressive and got three straight corner kicks in the opening minutes, but could not get shots off on them. After a clear, Christopher took aim in the 94th minute and missed high.
- Jasmine Hamid had a ground ball shot being saved by Savannah Barron, then seconds later, Rush tried to send the ball back but missed right in the first overtime. The teams went into the second OT tied at two.
- Canoles immediately had a chance in the first minute of double OT, being saved. Minutes later, Demi Pierre went for the right post, also being saved.
- Charleston got a near breakaway in the 105th minute as Natalie Sgro forced a 1-on-3. Melendez cut off her angle to the net as the shot went wide left.
- A last chance came from Pierre in the 110th minute on a shot towards the crossbar. A jumping Barron made the save, ending the game in a draw.
Inside the Numbers
- With her 12th goal of the season, Nia Christopher is tied for third for goals in a single season in Towson history.
- This is the first time this season where Towson got a draw when its opponent scored first.
