TOWSON, Md. — The Towson University field hockey team fell to Northeastern 4-0 on Friday evening in its final Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) contest of the season.
Goalkeeper Lena Vandam amassed a game-high 18 saves in net while Kasey Bubel collected two defensive saves. Georgia Beachley led the offensive effort with two shots.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northeastern attempted two penalty corners in the first two minutes of the contest to get off to a hot start.
- In the sixth minute, the Huskies scored from close range inside the circle to take an early lead.
- Just 1:26 later, Lauren Rowe converted on her first penalty stroke of the game to extend her team's lead, 2-0.
- Kathryn Parkinson got down field at the end of the opening period to give Towson its first offensive chance but could not connect the pass.
- Less than a minute into the second period, Northeastern got its fifth corner of the contest followed by five shots to keep up the pressure.
- In the 22nd minute, Rowe cashed in on her second stroke of the contest to give the Huskies a 3-0 lead.
- Maddie Dalton registered the first shot of the game for Towson, as her attempt sailed wide. Right after the Northeastern's third score, Parkinson attempted the Tigers' first corner.
- The Huskies took over the start of the third quarter, taking five shots and two corners.
- The Tigers answered with their own pair of corners resulting in two shots from Beachley. Either found the back of the net. They ended the period with one more corner and shot.
- Vandam ended with 15:00 span with a game-best six saves in the period.
- Northeastern picked up where they left off, attempting a game-high eight corners in the final quarter, resulting in a contest-high 11 shots.
- On their eighth and final corner, the Huskies found the back of the net for the fourth time to solidify the win. With the score by Rowe, she ended the game with three goals.
BEYOND THE BOX
- Vandam's 18 saves marks her second highest game total this season. The graduate student earned a season-best 21 stops at Virginia (9/5).
- Bubel also added two defensive saves, bringing her season total to 12. This is also her third multi-stop game this fall.
- Beachley, Dalton and Paige Reese registered shots for the Tigers. Northeastern out shot Towson 34-4.
- The Huskies also took 16 penalty corners through the game. The black & gold defended all but one.
- Five cards were handed out in Friday's contest, including three yellow cards.
