TOWSON, Md. – For the third week in a row, Towson University women's soccer has earned a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) weekly honor as
Demi Pierre has been selected as the league's Rookie of the Week.
Pierre earned her second career CAA Rookie of the Week honor, also getting the award on Sept. 2, 2019.
This is the second straight time where a Towson player has been named as the CAA Rookie of the Week, with
Alexandra Rush earning the award last week. The previous two weeks,
Riley Melendez has been chosen as the CAA Defensive Player of the Week.
Pierre was a big player in Towson's first-ever victory over James Madison on Sunday, assisting both goals to
Danielle Maggio and
Jenna Blank. This season, the redshirt freshman out of Gävle, Sweden has started all four games in the midfield, having six shots.
So far this year, four Towson freshmen have at least a point off a goal or assist: Pierre, Rush,
Khori Banks and
Nia Christopher.
The Tigers begin league play this weekend, competing against Drexel on Saturday at noon in Philadelphia.
