TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team fell in the series finale to Delaware Sunday afternoon inside Tiger Softball Stadium.
The Blue Hens (16-3, 6-2 CAA) defeated the Tigers (10-12, 0-6) 17-2 in five innings to sweep the series.
This is the first three-game sweep since 2013 between the two teams.
Lauren Ringhiser and
Cali Christopher had RBI singles in the game.
How it Happened
- The Blue Hens took an early 4-0 lead after two innings.
- Towson cut into the lead 4-1 in the bottom of the second after a single to center field by Ringhiser scored Chloe Poulich who reached base on a lead-off triple.
- Delaware then scored four runs on three hits including a two-run homerun by Halle Kisamore to go up 8-1 in the top of the third.
- The Blue Hens added three more runs in the top of the fourth after Emily Blum hit a two-run homer.
- The Tigers added one more run in the bottom of the fourth on a single by Christopher while bases were loaded.
- Delaware ended the game with six more runs in the top of the fifth to close out the score 17-2.

- This is Poulich's second triple this season and ties Ringhiser with two apiece.
