TOWSON, Md. – A double shut-out for the Towson University softball team as they took two from Saint Joseph's Wednesday afternoon.
In game one, Towson (14-14, 1-8 CAA) defeated Saint Joseph's (13-16, 6-3 A-10) 1-0 then took game two 2-0 inside Tiger Softball Stadium.
Nicole Kidwiler went 4-for-5 on the day including a perfect 2-for-2 in game one. Linsdey Toneygay,
Chloe Poulich, and
Madyson Peters all had RBI singles for Towson.
This is the third shut-out for Towson this season.
How it Happened – Game One
- In the bottom of the third, Kidwiler reached base on a single to left field and a single by Toneygay gave Towson the 1-0 lead.
- Melissa Abrahamian got the last out on a groundout.
- Towson had seven hits in the game.
Inside the Numbers – Game one
- Abrahamian pitched the entire game facing 28 batters, had nine groundouts and two strikeouts. She moves to 5-6 on the season.
- Toneygay earned her 14th RBI.
- Kidwiler hit her seventh double of the season.
How it Happened – Game two
- Towson took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a single to right field by Poulich scoring Mackenzie Lake who reached on a fielder's choice.
- The Tigers got the insurance run in the bottom of the sixth on a single to right field by Peters scoring Poulich who reached base on a single to left field.
- Madeline Harris got the last out for Towson on a fly-out to centerfield.

- Poulich hit her 20th RBI and leads the team.
- This was Harris' first shut-out this season.
- She threw the entire game faced 28 batters and had four strikeouts.
- She moves to 4-2 on the season.
Up Next
Towson will travel to Hempstead, New York April 23-24 to face Hofstra for Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play. The games were originally scheduled for April 24-25 but got moved up on the count of inclement weather in the forecast. Friday's doubleheader is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. inside Bill Edwards Stadium.
