TOWSON, Md. – After a two week pause and two lightening delays the Towson University softball team was back in action Saturday afternoon taking on Drexel in a doubleheader.
Drexel (26-10, 11-5 CAA) won game one 14-4 before taking game two 10-2 in five innings over Towson (14-16, 1-10 CAA) inside Tiger Softball Stadium.
The Tigers honored seniors
Lindsey Toneygay and
Madison Wilson at the conclusion of game two for all their hard work on the field and in the classroom.
How it Happened
- Drexel took an early 6-0 lead after four innings including a home run by Kristi DiMeo in the top of the fourth.
- The Tigers answered back with two runs in the bottom of the fourth after a single by Wilson and a RBI groundout by Toneygay.
- Drexel's Sarah Clinton hit a three-run homer in the top of the sixth to give the Dragon's a 9-2 advantage.
- Towson added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut into the lead 9-4.
- Drexel ended the game with five more runs in the top of the seventh.

How it Happened – game two
- The Dragon took an 8-0 lead after two innings.
- Towson cut into the lead in the bottom of the second scoring two runs after a single by Lauren Ringhiser scored the runners on base. Then, a single to right field by Madyson Peters made the score 8-2 going into the top of the third.
- Drexel added two more runs in the top of the third to seal the deal.

- Bre McDowell pitched five innings, had two strikeouts and moves to 0-3 this season.
