Lake Homers in 3-1 Victory over George Washington

TOWSON, Md. – Mackenzie Lake homers as the Towson University softball team defeated George Washington 3-1 Thursday afternoon inside Tiger Softball Stadium.

Lake hit her fifth home run this season for Towson (10-9) in the victory over the Colonials (16-8).

How it Happened
  • George Washington took an early 1-0 lead over Towson in the top of the fourth after a fielder's choice by Faith Weber advanced the runners on base.
  • Lake homered off the first pitch by Megan Osterhaus to tie the game at one a piece in the bottom of the fifth.
  • Madison Wilson hit a two run double to center field to give the Tigers the 3-1 victory.
  • Julia Jackson faced six batters in the last two innings including a groundout to third base to seal the deal.

  • Lake leads the team in home runs (5).
  • Wilson now has two doubles this season.
  • The Tigers out-hit the Colonials 5-4.
  • Towson recorded two errors, while GW had zero.
  • Towson saw three pitchers throw for George Washington; Megan Osterhaus, Faith Weber and Sierra Lange. Lange is now 9-6 this season.

The Tigers will host Delaware Saturday, April 10-11 for Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play inside Tiger Softball Stadium. Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled to begin at noon.
