TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's soccer team has selected four players as captains for the upcoming fall 2021 season.
Camryn Anderson,
Jenna Blank,
Phoebe Canoles and
Jacey Miller will serve as captains this season.
"We have four great leaders of this team," said Towson head coach
Katherine Vettori. "We are looking forward to their leadership, consistency and work ethic that they will bring as captains on and off the pitch."
Senior Anderson has been a starter the past two years on defense and has played in 41 career contests for the Tigers. Playing at center back last season, the senior earned her first career goal against Hofstra.
Blank enters her senior year having played in 42 career games, including 29 starts at forward. The 2018 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) All-Rookie Team member has 18 career points with the Tigers, including five goals during the 2019 campaign.
In her first full season with Towson, Canoles earned All-CAA Third Team and CAA All-Rookie Team at defender, being one of just two players to play all 785 minutes in the spring. She was ninth in the league with 2.25 shots per game.
Miller has started all 26 games of her Towson career on defense, being All-CAA Third Team and CAA All-Rookie Team in 2019. The junior played in at least 65 minutes in all eight games of the spring campaign.
Towson will kick off the 2021 fall season on Thursday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. vs. Saint Joseph's under the lights at Tiger Field.
