TOWSON, Md. — The Towson University field hockey team couldn't hold on to an early lead to ultimately fall to Wagner, 3-1, on Friday afternoon.
Elizabeth Harper secured her first goal of the season in the sixth minute of play to give Towson the early lead. However, Wagner scored one goal in each quarter ahead to take home the 3-1 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Towson came into the game looking the best they have all year, getting a penalty corner attempt and a shot off early.
- Just before the clock hit the seventh minute, Harper knocked in a pass from Georgia Beachley to give the Tigers the advantage. Mackenzie Tillman was also credited with an assist.
- Towson took five more shots and had two more corner attempts to end the first quarter.
- The second quarter was all Wagner offense, as the team seven shots and four corners. The Seahawks cashed in as Agustina DeHarbe hit in a shot from right in front of the net to knot the game at 1-1.
- Kasey Bubel added two defensive saves within two minutes of each other.
- Wagner kept the pressure on after halftime with four more corners and five additional shots.
- On the Seahawk's converted on their third corner of the quarter to go up 2-1.
- Hannah McKeon got a shot off the Tigers' loan penalty corner of the 15:00 span but did not get the equalizer. Goalkeeper Lena Vandam also ended the third quarter with a game-high five saves.
- Just over five minutes into the final quarter of play, Wagner scored its third goal of the game to create a deficit that Towson could not overcome.
- The Tigers came on strong in the end, attempted three corners and taking five shots in the final moments of the contest.
BEYOND THE BOX
- Towson took a season-high 13 shots during Friday's contest.
- Bubel collected three defensive saves to earn a new season-high and tie her career-best. The senior captain now has eight defensive stops on the season to lead the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA).
- Harper goal was her first of the season and just the second of her collegiate career.
- McKeon led with four shots and two on goal. Paige Reese, Lexi Bove and Harper also put shots on net during the contest.
- This is Vandam's second consecutive game with nine saves.
