  • On the flip side, the Towson defense held Hofstra to 66 points, the third-lowest total for the Pride this season.  The Tigers held Hofstra to 33.3% from the field in the second half and 28.6% from three in the entire game.
  • Gibson's 26 points and three steals led all players, adding four assists and five rebounds.  Cam Holden notched his seventh double-double of the year on 11 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.  Nicolas Timberlake tallied up 12 points, four assists and four boards while Juwan Gray finished with nine points and eight rebounds off the bench.

How It Happened:
  • Towson looked to the perimeter early and often, shooting from three in its first three attempts from the field.  Jason Gibson and Antonio Rizzuto each connected from beyond the arc early for a 6-2 Towson advantage 1:31 in.
  • Hofstra kept up a fast tempo, routinely taking shots in the first 15 seconds of the shot clock.  Aaron Estrada had the hot hand early, scoring 11 of Hofstra's first 13 points to give the visitors a 13-9 advantage with 15:30 to play in the 1st.
  • Towson turned its attention to the paint as Chase Paar knocked down a layup while hacked to score and one, then Cam Holden scored off a pass from Juwan Gray to send Towson ahead 14-13 just over six minutes through.
  • After the game got tied at 17 off a Darrick Jones Jr. three, neither team scored for almost three minutes.  The Towson run eventually continued off a second Rizzuto three and a Nicolas Timberlake driving layup to send Towson up 22-17 with 8:03 remaining in the period.
  • Another back-and-forth session of little scoring commenced as Hofstra started to chip away, tying the game at 24.  Gibson hit a pair of kick-out threes to aid Towson on a 13-4 run, giving the Tigers a nine-point lead.  Hofstra scored out the half with seven straight points, capped by an Omar Silverio three, to make it 37-35 at the break.
  • Towson's defense held off Hofstra's three-point barrage in the early minutes of the second half.  On the other end, scoring from four different Tigers built a 9-0 run as Towson got a 46-36 advantage.
  • Hofstra pulled back to within four as the team continued to go without any stoppage of play for over six minutes. The squads went back and forth, up and down the court, as the score went to 53-48 Towson with 11:11 left.  From there, Towson's kick-out threes paid dividends with Gibson hitting a pair, then Timberlake adding another, to make it 62-48 Tigers with nine minutes to play.
  • The visitors again tried to chip away, with Hofstra getting back to within eight.  The Towson threes sent the home team surging forward, with Holden, Timberlake and Gibson knocking them down in succession to get Towson a 17-point advantage at 71-54, 5:25 to play.
  • From there, Towson never trailed by double digits again.  With nearly a two-minute span of no points, Towson took out the rest of the clock and won 78-66.
