TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's soccer team (10-2-4, 3-1-3 CAA) picked up a big 2-1 win against William & Mary (6-6-4, 2-2-3 CAA) on Thursday night.
Nia Christopher scored the game winner in the 80
th minute off a rebound in the box for her 11
th goal of the season.
Reese Borden scored her first collegiate goal in the first half to round out the scoring for the Tigers.
The win for the Tigers was their 10
th win of the season, their first 10-win season since 2000.

- Reese Borden wasted little time giving Towson a 1-0 lead, netting a goal in the 11th minute. Borden bent home a free kick from 35 yards out into the top left corner.
- In the 18th minute, Riley Melendez made a big save on the doorstep to keep the Tigers in front.
- Nia Christopher nearly gave Towson a 2-0 lead, but her shot was saved.
- She had another chance in the 43rd minute off a great pass from Khori Banks, but once again Christopher was denied as the Tigers took a 1-0 lead into the break.
- William & Mary tied the game in the 50th minute after being on the front foot to open the half.
- Play went back and forth in the middle part of the half with Melendez making another big save in the 70th minute.
- Towson would find the game winner off the foot of Nia Christopher in the 80th minute. Christopher took a rebound off a corner kick and slotted it home to give Towson a 2-1 lead.
- The Tiger defense would stand tall the rest of the way, picking up a big 2-1 win against the Tribe on Thursday.
