TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University field hockey team fell to Monmouth 4-0 Sunday afternoon at So Sweet a Cat Field in West Long Branch, N.J.

How It Happened:
- The game remained scoreless through the first half, with the Tigers getting three shots off and goalie Tessa Scheenstra recorded four saves in the first half.
- Monmouth took the lead off a penalty corner in the third quarter.
- The Tigers weren't able to convert on the penalty corner awarded in the final minutes of the game.
Inside the Numbers:
- Scheenstra recorded seven saves on 11 shots faced in the contest.
- The Tigers recorded four shots with two on goal in the game, from Cate Cook and Lexi Bove.
- The 2022 team features six seniors who have been fixtures in the lineup since arriving on campus in September 2019. After 16 games this season, the six have combined to start 250 games. Georgia Beachley and Hannah McKeon have each started 57 games, Samantha Aljets has started 39 games and Mackenzie Tillman has started 37 contests. Gianna Antone and Hannah King have each logged 30 starts for the Tigers.
Next Game: The Tigers will finish the regular season on the road next weekend with one CAA and one non-conference game. They'll face Northeastern in CAA play in Boston on Friday (Oct. 28) at 4 p.m., followed by a game in Worcester, Mass. to play Holy Cross on Sunday (Oct. 30) at 12 p.m.
